Job Summary
Coordinate hospital bed assignments and manage admissions for after-hours business inquiries. Serve as the primary administrative official for the unit, facilitating daily bed management meetings and tracking barriers to patient flow. Escalate medical necessity issues through the chain of command and act as a liaison between physicians, staff, and outside agencies to promote efficient patient movement. Resolve staffing problems caused by absences or bed shortages while handling public relations matters and guiding campus police as needed. Manage emergency code responses and coordinate activities during catastrophic situations such as fires or disasters. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and quality initiatives while modeling organizational values in interactions with employees and patients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- 3 years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting
- 3 years of progressive leadership experience
- Current Registered Nurse License (RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact Registered Nurse (eNLC))
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification
