Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to patients with critical illnesses, cardiac conditions, respiratory disorders, trauma, acute medical emergencies, and post-operative complications. Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient conditions, including those requiring cardiac monitoring and intensive care interventions. Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and improve patient outcomes. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions. Accurately document patient care using electronic medical records (EPIC/Allscripts).
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- ICU: 1–2 years of Critical Care/ICU experience
- Stepdown/CPCU, Telemetry & ED: Minimum 1 year of acute care experience in ICU, Telemetry, Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical, or Stepdown units
- Current BCLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong written, verbal, and computer skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
