Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive surgical ICU patient care during weekend shifts from Friday through Sunday, managing diagnosis, planning, and evaluation for assigned groups. Deliver individualized, culturally sensitive nursing plans while advocating for patient safety, rights, and significant others. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance care goals, mentor new members, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Maintain advanced clinical expertise through continuing education and specialty certifications, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards and ethical practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher
  • Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association
  • Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative)
  • Oral, listening and written communication skills
  • Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations
  • Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association
  • Permanent weekend commitment
  • Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Authorization and disclosure form for background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Critical Care experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) highly preferred
  • Experience in specific clinical area
  • Nursing specialty certification, if eligible
