Job Summary
The professional clinical nurse provides patient-centered care in the Emergency Department within the Northwestern Medicine system, aligning with NMH's mission and ethics. Responsibilities include developing individualized, age-appropriate plans of care, advocating for patients, employing the nursing process, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring patient safety, and documenting patient responses. Requires a BSN or higher, Illinois RN license, and BLS, plus strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; duties emphasize teaching, mentoring, and professional growth, with a commitment to evidence-based practice and adherence to ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher
- Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association
- Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative)
- Oral, listening and written communication skills
- Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations
- Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data
