Job Summary
Lead Preschool Teacher to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children ages 3–5, assess progress through observation and documentation, differentiate instruction for mixed-age/ability learners, and foster a positive, organized classroom that supports cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical development. The role includes mentoring assistant teachers, building family partnerships, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring readiness for kindergarten. Requires ability to manage classrooms within SC state ratios, obtain SC Health & Safety and First Aid/CPR certifications, and be available for either early or late shift.
Required Qualifications
- Experience teaching preschool-aged children (ages 3–5)
- Strong understanding of child development, assessment practices, and curriculum planning
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and support mixed-age and mixed-ability learners
- Proven ability to effectively manage and engage classrooms within state ratios (up to 1:12 for younger preschoolers and 1:17 for older preschoolers)
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork abilities
- Early Childhood Education coursework, degree, or related educational background preferred
- Must obtain (or be willing to obtain) the free 15-hour South Carolina Health & Safety Certification before orientation
- Must obtain (or be willing to obtain) First Aid/CPR certification
- Availability to work either 6:00 AM–3:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM shift as needed
