Job Summary
Acquire tools, measure distances, and bolt, nail, and align pipe sections for construction projects. Mix concrete, smooth finishes, and position pipe sections while operating a Wacker and jumping jack for backfilling duties. Shoot grades using lasers, check slopes, and perform connections to ensure proper alignment and grade specifications. Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces as needed. This role requires one year of heavy highway construction experience and familiarity with underground utilities. Required Qualifications
- One year of relevant heavy highway construction experience
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience
- Experienced in underground utilities such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and structures
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to regularly stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to regularly talk or hear
- Must be able to adjust focus
- Must have distance vision and depth perception
- Must be able to work in outside weather conditions
- Must be able to occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Must be able to work around moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work in a moderate noise level
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing
- Must pass pre-employment physical
Desired Qualifications
- Three years of related experience and/or training
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
