Job Summary
Direct and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans to prevent disabilities, relieve pain, and restore muscle function for clients recovering from surgical procedures, trauma, sports-related injuries, and chronic illness. Conduct thorough evaluations using diagnostic assessments of muscle, nerve, and joint capabilities, while assessing home environments to recommend adaptations. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, administer therapeutic exercises and manual treatments, and fit/adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices. Prepare accurate clinical documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, and engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss case progress.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
- A valid physical therapy license in good standing within the state of New Jersey
- Current CPR certification
- A valid driver's license with automobile insurance
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, empathetic patient care
- Onsite work at the rehabilitation facility in Highland Park, NJ
Desired Qualifications
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- At least two years of experience in physical therapy
- Experience in acute care settings
- Experience in home care settings
- Familiarity with standard physical therapy techniques
- Familiarity with patient management strategies
