Job Summary
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients recovering from injury, surgery, or illness to determine physical therapy needs. Design and implement individualized treatment plans including exercises, hands-on therapy, and specialized equipment. Monitor patient progress, adjust plans as necessary, and document all sessions to ensure continuity of care. Educate patients and families on conditions, empowering them with strategies for recovery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians and occupational therapists to provide comprehensive care. Advise patients on assistive device usage and training. Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain clinical excellence. Work with a diverse population including those with orthopedic, sports, and neurological conditions in a state-of-the-art facility.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
- Valid state license to practice physical therapy in the District of Columbia
- A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and other workplace technologies
- Demonstrable flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- A strong commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical excellence
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in rehabilitative care focused on a range of conditions, including sports medicine and post-operative recovery
- Experience with pediatric physical therapy
