Job Summary
UPMC Children’s Express Care in West Mifflin seeks a Limited Part-Time Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to support pediatric urgent care. The APP will provide patient care activities for a group of pediatric patients and families through independent judgment and collaboration with physicians and the care team. Responsibilities include applying professional practice knowledge, formulating care plans, ensuring patient safety and quality, communicating effectively, building relationships with patients and families, and contributing to continuous improvement. Required Qualifications
- Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) credential
- Current state RN license and CRNP certification (for CRNP) or NCCPA certification (for PA)
- Current CPR certification
- Licensure as CRNP or PA in Pennsylvania
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and families
- Experience in pediatric care, preferably pediatric urgent care
- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program (CRNP) or physician assistant program (PA)
- BSN, MSN preferred for CRNP; BS or MS preferred for PA
- Ability to work 1 weekday evening and 1 weekend shift per week (evenings 5-9 PM; weekends 10-6 PM or 12-8 PM)
- Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges as applicable
- Act 33/Act 34/Act 73 clearances required
- Proof of readiness to practice in a clinical setting
- Demonstrated clinical leadership and ability to provide patient care through independent judgment
