Job Summary
Administer medications and treatment assistance per provider orders while supervising self-administration and maintaining accurate distribution records. Assist residents with daily living tasks including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, feeding, and transfers. Observe residents for safety changes, report incidents to nursing staff, and document pertinent information in charts and alert systems. Communicate with physicians via fax and telephone, ensure a safe and clean environment, and uphold resident rights with a courteous, empathetic demeanor. Maintain confidentiality, follow safe working practices, and perform assigned duties in a fast-paced setting while utilizing judgment and initiative.
Required Qualifications
- Drug free status with willingness to submit to Urinary Analysis Drug screening upon hire and routinely
- Pass Criminal Background Check
- Pass Health Screening including TB test
- Be eighteen (18) years old
- Maintain current CPR and first aid certification
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret charting standards, physician orders, or administrative regulations
- Assisted Living and Memory Care regulations knowledge
- Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate assignments
- Successful completion of state certified medication aide/tech course
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing in standard English
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk throughout the vast majority of the workday
- Ability to frequently push, pull, bend, twist and reach
- Must be willing to be active and on feet during entire work shift
- Involvement in light to heavy physical activity performing non-strenuous and strenuous activities
- Sufficient manual dexterity to work with the fingers and to reach/hand items
