Job Summary
Conduct equipment selection, mechanical plan layout, and cost estimating for HVAC, plumbing, and process systems in commercial and institutional facilities. Develop designs within a BIM environment while coordinating with consultants, responding to RFIs, and reviewing submittals. Provide field observation reports and collaborate with internal and external teams to execute projects from concept to completion. Maintain rapport with vendors and stay current on mechanical system trends and design codes. Take direction from the Engineer of Record to meet project schedules and budgets. Requires four years of mechanical design experience and familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM. Annual salary ranges from $60,000 to $110,000+ based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of four (4) years mechanical design experience in the consulting engineering field
- Engineer Intern (EI) certificate from New Mexico
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with Revit
- Experience with other design related software
- Significant mechanical and plumbing design experience
- Experience with federal projects
- Working knowledge and familiarity with International Mechanical Code (IMC)
- Working knowledge and familiarity with International Plumbing Code (IPC)
- Working knowledge and familiarity with Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC)
- Working knowledge and familiarity with Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC)
- Working knowledge and familiarity with ASME Standards
- Working knowledge and familiarity with ASHRAE Standards
- Working knowledge and familiarity with Piping codes, B31.1, B31.3
- Working knowledge and familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
- Working knowledge and familiarity with National CAD Standards (NCS)
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD
- Experience with Engineering and construction software
- Experience with Revit
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Experience with Microsoft Office software
- Experience with Bluebeam Revu
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with federal projects is a plus
- Engineer Intern (EI) certificate from New Mexico SBLPES is a plus
