Job Summary
Experienced Software Development Engineer focused on mainframe platforms, with development in IBM Assembler. Responsible for designing and implementing high-quality software for mainframe-based products, partnering with product management to define requirements, and delivering solutions in an Agile, small-team environment. Responsibilities include developing software design/architecture, producing, testing and debugging solutions, providing peer leadership in an Agile team, coordinating with management and internal teams, automating tasks with appropriate tools and scripting, and performing validation and verification testing. The role requires strong mainframe knowledge, DB2 and SQL skills, z/OS familiarity, experience with source control and debugging tools, test automation, and DevOps/CI practices to keep technologies up-to-date.
Required Qualifications
- Proven Mainframe knowledge and skills
- IBM Assembler language proficiency
- Strong understanding of DB2 and relational database concepts and internals
- z/OS Operating system familiarity
- Database design and SQL skills
- Source control systems and interactive debugging tool experience
- Strong Database Application design and implementation skills including schema design, queries, procedures, triggers etc.
- Experience developing/utilizing test automation
- Experience with DevOps and Continuous integration tools
- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Bachelors in Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ Years Industry Experience or MA/MS Engineering or Computer Science with 6+ Years Industry Experience
