Job Summary
Independently perform work within the Lathe, Mill, and/or Grinding departments without additional training or direct supervision. Execute machine setups, tooling changes, and operations including milling, turning, grinding, drilling, tapping, deburring, inspection, and bench work. Demonstrate strong knowledge of tooling, tool life, and machine conditions while identifying and correcting defective materials. Complete inspection reports, follow quality alerts, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Train and assist less-experienced operators and be willing to work in other plant areas as production needs require. Monday–Thursday 1st or 2nd shift with 4-day week; overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints
- Proficient knowledge of GD&T
- In-depth knowledge of machine tools, tooling selection, and materials
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming
- Proficient operation of CNC lathes, mills, and/or grinders
- In-depth knowledge of bore tools, gauges, inspection requirements, and documentation
- Proficient use of work offsets and tool offsets, including cutter compensation
- Ability to indicate parts and properly set up workpieces
- Ability to follow written work instructions and quality procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
