Job Summary
Maintain locomotives to FRA standards by inspecting, repairing, and replacing components while utilizing EMD systems and electronic work order tracking. Perform routine maintenance, log pertinent information, and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues, determining whether repairs are internal or require third-party resources. Work safely around high voltage and rotating equipment, assisting operations personnel as needed and completing assigned duties. Monday through Friday day shift with some weekends required; hourly rate between $25 and $40.
Required Qualifications
- Proven trouble shooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems
- 18 years or older
- Legally able to work in the U.S.
- Regular on-site attendance
- Punctuality
- Speak fluent English
- Write fluent English
- Read fluent English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with diesel engines
- Experience with electrical systems
- Knowledge of EMD locomotives
- Knowledge of Dash 2 and Dash 3 control systems
- Knowledge of event recorders
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid TWIC card
- Previous military experience
- Proven ability to follow procedures
