Job Summary
Maintain locomotives to FRA standards by utilizing EMD systems and electronic work order tracking. Perform routine maintenance, log pertinent information, and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues while diagnosing problems to determine internal resolution or third-party referral. Assist operations personnel with locomotive issues and safely work around high voltage and rotating equipment. Complete assigned duties as needed. Requires proven troubleshooting skills, familiarity with Dash 2 and Dash 3 control systems, and ability to work on-site Monday through Friday with some weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Proven trouble shooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems
- 18 years or older
- Legally able to work in the U.S.
- Regular on-site attendance
- Punctuality
- Ability to speak, write, and read fluent English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with diesel engines
- Experience with electrical systems
- Knowledge of EMD locomotives
- Knowledge of Dash 2 and Dash 3 control systems
- Knowledge of event recorders
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid TWIC card
- Previous military experience
- Proven ability to follow procedures
