Job Summary
Execute and oversee maintenance, repair, and qualification testing of analytical instrumentation including HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS, and LC/MS/MS systems. Provide advanced technical guidance on instrumentation and software, draft standard operating procedures, and interpret equipment policies for staff and management. Source parts to maintain inventory, conduct audits to ensure data accuracy, and participate in cross-functional projects. Travel overnight 25-50% of the time. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, or a closely related field
- eight (8) years instrument/equipment troubleshooting and repair work
- Advanced to expert knowledge of HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS Principles, practices, and techniques to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems
- Advanced to expert knowledge in testing tools, instruments and calibration
- Comprehensive understanding of the administration and oversight of area programs, policies, and procedures
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable area laws, codes, and regulations
- Advanced to expert understanding of comprehensive testing tools, equipment, and calibration
- Performing advanced to expert HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS troubleshooting
- Administering instrument, mechanical, electrical, and software-based functions
- Interpreting, applying and explaining applicable laws, codes, and regulations
- Performing effective oral presentations to large and small groups across functional peers and the department
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals contacted in the course of the work
- Overnight travel 25 - 50% of the time depending on location
