Job Summary
Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies while acquiring necessary tools for daily operations. Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, stretch lines, and level earth to fine specifications. Bolts, nails, aligns, and blocks under forms; signals equipment operators for alignment and adjustment. Mix, smooth, and finish concrete; position, join, align, and seal pipe sections. Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces. Assist with pre-run markings, use paving lutes, operate vibratory plates, shovel asphalt, and direct traffic. Set up job functions with lasers, operate Wacker and jumping jacks for backfilling, use cut saws, prep connections, shoot and check grades, and ensure proper pipe slope. Requires one month of related experience, strong communication and mathematical skills, and the ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE. Regularly exposed to outside weather and moving mechanical parts.
Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience and/or training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
