Job Summary
Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies while acquiring tools, measuring distances, and bolting, nailing, and aligning forms. Level earth, mix and finish concrete, and erect scaffolding. Assist with paving markings, operate vibratory plates, shovel asphalt, and direct traffic. For pipe duties, operate Wacker and jumping jack equipment, cut pipes, prepare connections, shoot and check grades using lasers, and ensure proper slope. Fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed. Requires one month of related experience, strong communication and math skills, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Regularly exposed to outside weather and moving mechanical parts.
Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience and/or training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have depth perception
- Must have the ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
