Job Summary
Experienced Laborer responsible for performing construction-site duties in a crew setting at Ft. Meade, MD, including measuring distances, placing forms and stakes, mixing concrete, finishing concrete, positioning and joining pipe sections, erecting scaffolding and shoring, and assisting with paving and pipe-related tasks. The role involves signaling equipment operators, following OSHA and safety policies, using tools and equipment, and adapting to varying tasks as projects require. Strong emphasis on teamwork, physical fitness, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and adherence to safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience and/or training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
