Job Summary
Lead kitchen operations for Over the Bar Cafe Hastings, supervising line cooks, prep cooks, expeditors, and dish staff; ensure consistent food quality and presentation; manage food ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships; control food costs and waste while upholding health/safety standards; train and mentor kitchen staff; coordinate with front-of-house for smooth service and maintain cleanliness and organization in a busy kitchen; requires strong leadership, organization, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume restaurant environment and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of kitchen management or supervisory experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Experience with ordering and inventory control
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Preferred Qualifications: ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in scratch kitchens or high-quality casual dining
