Job Summary
Execute automation solutions and control systems for plant processes, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation functions. Read schematics, implement control strategies based on best practices, and collaborate with fix/support teams to identify reliability improvements. Provide training on completed projects and maintain knowledge of specific plant processes. Perform physical tasks involving lifting, bending, and standing in wet, humid conditions with exposure to moving mechanical parts while wearing required personal protective equipment. Requires a 6-day work week and availability for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need of a Visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Knowledge of PLC/HMI/Controls programming languages
- Ability to update and troubleshoot a range of electrical or instrumentation systems
- Ability to read and analyze electrical schematics
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team or individual environment and be a self-starter
- Ability to pass an Electrical Aptitude Test
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- This position requires availability for a 6 day work week
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to lift 10-25 pounds
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use stairs and/or ladders
- Ability to work in wet and/or humid conditions
- Ability to work on irregular surfaces
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and reach
- Ability to work on moving mechanical parts
- Ability to work in fast paced warm/cool environments
- Ability to use personal protective equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Cargill Experience
- Ability to understand continuous and batch process control strategies
- Possess a working understanding of the production process
- Ability to configure and program a variety of control systems including PLC and HMI systems
- Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning and scheduling
- Automation, Electrical, and / or Instrumentation experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens
- Design and implementation knowledge of plant digital business technologies
