Job Summary
Support daily routines, household tasks, cooking, shopping, and budgeting while encouraging community participation and social connections. Assist with appointments and activities to help people develop life skills, achieve personal goals, and promote wellbeing, choice, and independence. Maintain accurate records and communicate with the wider team to ensure person-centred care. Work rostered shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays in a 24/7 environment.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years' experience in New Zealand supporting people with disabilities or in a related community-based support role
- Experience working independently and supporting people with complex needs
- Experience in areas such as behaviour support, mental health, youth work, social services, or trauma-informed care
- A Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent qualification or experience)
- A full New Zealand driver's licence
- Strong communication skills and a person-centred approach
- Availability to work rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Employment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment screening, which will include two professional referee checks (including your current or most recent manager)
