Job Summary
Experienced Clinical Nurse in General Medicine 15E. Provides clinically competent, evidence-based care for an assigned patient group within the Northwestern Medicine system, advocating for patient-centered care and developing individualized age-specific nursing plans. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to achieve daily patient-centered goals, ensures safety and quality of care, and utilizes nursing processes to plan, implement, and evaluate care. Shares knowledge through education of patients, families, and team members; participates in continuing education and pursuit of specialty certification when eligible; delegates and supervises interventions; serves as a preceptor and mentor; engages in quality improvement and policy development to support safe, high-quality nursing practice.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher
- Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association
- Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative)
- Oral, listening and written communication skills
- Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations
- Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data
