Job Summary
Operate a heavy-capacity tractor-trailer with Class A CDL to transport steel products between Steel Technologies locations, from suppliers, to customers, and perform securement and documentation duties. Responsibilities include daily pre-trip inspections, reporting defects or incidents, maneuvering trailers with guidance from loading crews, securing cargo with ropes and binders, inspecting load and securement devices, maintaining accident and material defect paperwork, and adhering to a Sunday–Thursday night schedule (6:30 p.m.–4:30 a.m.). Required Qualifications
- Class A CDL License
- two years of driving experience
- steel hauling preferred
- Ability to operate a tractor trailer for up to 10 consecutive hours
- Ability to climb on and off the semi-trailer as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSR requirements and state laws
