Job Summary
Experienced Avionics Technician for the B-52 program based in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities include connector terminations for shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring; problem solving beyond manuals; routing and handling of harnesses; wiring assembly, sealing, bonding, and closure; diagnosing and correcting malfunctions from assembly processes; interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, and retrofit requirements; depot-level modification and repair of electrical wiring; performing assembly, installation, visual inspection of wire bundles and electrical assemblies; conducting operational and quality checks; reading blueprints and diagrams; using tooling and safety procedures; coordinating material and tool movement; operating elevating equipment; applying Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems; and maintaining readiness for 100% onsite work. The role requires 9+ years of avionics maintenance experience, ability to obtain a security clearance, and willingness to work variable shifts. The position is located in San Antonio, TX with US citizenship required for clearance and no visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- 9+ years of experience with maintenance of avionics and/or electronic equipment (Comm Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar, Electronic Warfare)
- 9+ years of experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematics and diagrams
- 9+ years of experience with software, media and file command installation to operate newly installed systems
- 9+ years of experience with component and wire installation to include repairing, modifying, testing and troubleshooting new, experimental, and disturbed systems
- Ability to work variable shifts (i.e. scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements and workload
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (US Citizenship)
- On-site work requirement (100% onsite)
- Experience with hazardous energy and Lock Out/Tag systems applications
