Job Summary
Experienced Avionics Technician sought for Boeing BDS team on the B-52 in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities include connector terminations for shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring; interpreting engineering drawings, technical orders, and retrofit requirements; diagnosing and correcting malfunctions in assembly processes; reading blueprints and wire diagrams; assembling, installing, and inspecting wire harnesses and electrical assemblies; using tooling, fixtures, and safety procedures; and coordinating material and tool movements. Candidates must have 9+ years of avionics/electronic-maintenance experience across related systems, be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications, and possess the ability to work variable shifts. Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (Secret) post-start. This is an onsite role in San Antonio, TX; relocation assistance is not offered. Shift: 4 (United States of America). The posting emphasizes compliance with safety, depot-level maintenance practices, and the use of hazardous energy control procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 9+ years of experience with maintenance of avionics and/or electronic equipment (Comm/Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar, Electronic Warfare)
- 9+ years of experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematics and diagrams
- 9+ years of experience with software, media and file command installation to operate newly installed systems
- 9+ years of experience with component and wire installation to include repairing, modifying, testing and troubleshooting new, experimental, and disturbed systems
- Ability to work variable shifts (i.e. scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements and workload
