Job Summary
Responsible for identifying necessary vehicle service and performing repair, service, and maintenance work in a dealership setting. Duties include examining customer vehicles, estimating repair costs, performing repairs and maintenance per dealership and manufacturer guidelines, requesting parts, documenting services, maintaining CSI and a clean, safe work area, following core values, participating in required training, and adhering to safety and timekeeping requirements. Must hold advanced technician credentials (Master Technician designation where applicable) and state inspections/emissions licenses, complete manufacturer diagnostics and warranty training, and possess a valid driver’s license. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, with exposure to typical service-area conditions and use of diagnostic/test equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Master Technician designation by respective manufacturer (ASE Master if required by manufacturer)
- State inspection/emissions license (required by state)
- Completed manufacturer training including diagnostics, EV, diesel, and specialty vehicles
- Completed necessary manufacturer training to complete warranty repairs on all model vehicles
- Valid Driver’s License
- Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems
- Demonstrable mechanical skills and related training
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and manuals
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues
- Computer skills to utilize timekeeping and parts systems
