Job Summary
AutoNation is seeking an Experienced Automotive Service Technician to perform vehicle repairs in accordance with dealer and factory standards. You’ll stay current with diagnostic methods and service techniques, follow repair procedures for warranty work, and participate in service training programs. You’ll interact daily with customers, service advisors, other technicians, parts staff, cashiers, sales associates and managers, and document repair orders clearly. Responsibilities include requesting parts as needed, communicating diagnostic information, ensuring repairs are completed on time, and upholding safety procedures. The role emphasizes skilled mechanical work, attention to detail, customer service, and collaboration within a busy shop environment, with opportunities for training, certification support, and career advancement across service and related paths.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- General mechanical skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
- Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
- Graduate of mechanical vocational trade school or equivalent experience
- Ability to operate an automobile
- ASE certification or successful completion of pre-employment test
- Technical or trade school degree preferred
