Job Summary
Experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician with responsibilities as the senior technical authority in the service department. Performs advanced diagnostics, A/C service and repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical work including engines and transmissions. Repairs/maintains brakes, suspension, steering, and related components; conducts drivability testing; mentors less-experienced technicians; maintains high safety, quality, and customer-satisfaction standards; collaborates with service advisors and management to ensure timely, complete job execution. Schedule is 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, NO WEEKENDS, in Cedar Rapids, IA; must uphold shop policies and continuous professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional automotive repair facility
- At least 4 current ASE certifications (preferred)
- EPA Section 609 Certification for automotive HVAC required
- Strong proficiency in advanced automotive diagnostics and electrical systems
- Must supply personal hand tools and specialty tools appropriate for the role
- Valid Iowa driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be 18 years or older
- Team-oriented, dependable, and able to follow established procedures
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, including pursuit of ASE Master Certification
