Job Summary
Administer medications and treatments per DVM instruction while documenting all steps within medically regulated parameters. Manage clinic flow for multiple cases and surgeons, responsibly documenting procedures, medications, and hospitalization instructions across departments. Respond quickly and calmly to crisis situations while maintaining a high standard of client care and delegating tasks safely during anesthesia and sedation for surgical and emergency procedures. Provide coaching and training to team-mates and interact professionally with clients and industry professionals via phone and email. Demonstrate medical mathematical competency to calculate and administer medications accurately. Holiday and weekend flexibility is required, with the position subject to on-call rotation. Must be able to lift 40lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years of Veterinary Medicine Experience, specifically in Surgery and Anesthesia
- Knowledge of basic animal care and nursing, especially anesthesia monitoring, and common comorbidities
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology
- Knowledge of equipment and materials along with their clinical application
- Display medical mathematical competency to safely calculate and administer medications
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and professional client interactions
- Self-motivated and can function without prompting
- Demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach to tasks and responsibilities
- Possesses a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Takes ownership of assigned tasks and sees them through to completion
- Resourceful in finding solutions and information when needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities
- Must be able to lift 40lbs
