Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Operator II at WM operates heavy equipment (bulldozers, scrapers, front-end loaders) at a landfill/recycling facility, adhering to safety policies, conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance, and moving materials as assigned. The role requires 3 years of experience with heavy equipment, being 18+, and legal work eligibility in the United States, with a scheduled Monday–Friday 6:30am–5:30pm shift and occasional weekends at the Jetersville, VA site. Responsibilities include following SOPs, maintaining accurate records, and supporting safety and operational goals while contributing to a stable work life balance and benefits package (healthcare, 401(k), tuition assistance, etc.). The position emphasizes independent work, accountability for safety, clear communication, and problem-solving abilities in a field environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Be over 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Preferred Experience: 3-5 yrs of excavator, dozer, compactor and ADT
