Job Summary
Experience Design Lead, Brand Marketing is a senior, hands-on leadership role within Dow Jones's Brand Marketing team. You will lead UX/UI design and brand experience initiatives, translate complex business goals into actionable design strategy, drive customer journey mapping across WSJ, WSJ+, and Dow Jones brands, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver audience-centric experiences. You will define design briefs, draft roadmaps, oversee the brand experience across touchpoints, mentor a small team of designers, ensure brand consistency and design excellence, and integrate AI tools to improve efficiency without compromising quality. Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite), strong UX/best-practices knowledge, and a track record of leading strategic planning and hands-on design are essential. The role requires a BA/BS in Design, UX, HCI, or related field and 10+ years of UX/brand design experience with at least 4+ years in a leadership capacity.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in UX and brand design
- 4+ years in a lead or management role, directing cross functional teams on complex projects from concept through execution
- Strong process orientation and systems thinking
- Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design ability across brand-led initiatives with a focus on customer journey
- Deep knowledge of UX best practices, content strategy and hierarchy, and strategic thinking
- Hands-on experience with visual identity, wireframes, user flows, and prototyping
- Experience maintaining or evolving design systems and brand standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management across marketing, brand, UX, and product teams
- Integration of AI tools in current workflows
- Experience with design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- BA/BS in Design, UX, HCI, or related field preferred
