Expense Management & Analysis, Analyst

Job Summary

Partner with expense owners and cost center administrators to provide guidance on expense coding and allocation, advising on appropriate corporate versus fund treatment based on the nature of spend. Resolve complex or ambiguous expense scenarios by developing subject matter expertise across vendors, business activities, and allocation methodologies. Collaborate with Fund Accounting to interpret governing documents and ensure consistency in allocation instructions while identifying inconsistencies to recommend improvements. Analyze historical errors and rejections to identify root causes, driving initiatives that reduce manual rework and improve first-pass accuracy. Build and maintain centralized documentation of coding standards and allocation methodologies to support broader organizational guidance.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience, preferably in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, or Master Data Management within the financial services industry, and preferably in the investment management industry
  • Prefer experience within Public Accounting and Investment firms, preferably with a focus on consulting, audit and/or corporate finance functions
  • Track record in business analysis and process improvement
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems
  • Experience working with judgment-based processes or ambiguous data
  • Experience in stakeholder-facing roles
  • Experience analyzing data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and root causes
  • Expertise in Workday, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Bachelor's degree required
