Job Summary
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) assists the Dentist and Operations Leader, sets up/breaks down operatories, prepares patients for treatment, sterilizes instruments, assists chairside during procedures, obtains radiographs and digital scans, records medical and dental histories and vital signs, performs prophylaxis, fabricates/adjusts orthodontic appliances (retainers, wires, bands), provides post-operative instructions and patient education, manages lab cases and records, orders and monitors supplies, ensures HIPAA/OSHA compliance, delivers exceptional patient service, and participates in continuing education to support patient health and office efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- License / training as required by state/county/local licensing agency
- X-ray certification as defined by state/county/local licensing agency
- Current state / county / local Expanded Functions Dental Assisting License as defined by licensing agency
