Job Summary
Conduct TB case review, contact investigations, and transmission assessments in residential and non-residential settings across NYC. Systematically identify contacts and coordinate notification, education, and follow-up care while working with external partners. Assess investigation results to determine if further public health intervention is warranted. Review and enter data into the Health Department's TB surveillance system, and conduct routine and ad hoc data analysis for internal presentations. Join the Expanded Contact Investigation Team to support responses to TB exposures in worksites, schools, shelters, and religious organizations.
Required Qualifications
- A master's degree in public health or epidemiology from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 12 graduate credits in epidemiology
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Two years of full-time paid experience as a health professional in a position which requires data collection and the reading and interpretation of medical charts and medical information in support of surveillance and epidemiologic investigations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working and communicating with patients and/or the public
- Experience working and communicating with health care or social service providers
- Experience with phlebotomy
- Knowledge of core epidemiology principles
- Experience with data review and analysis
- Experience with medical terminology and conducting medical chart reviews
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite(MS word, Excel etc.)
