Job Summary
Exhibits Technician role at Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum (Nashville, TN) Part-Time, 20–25 hours/week. Operate and monitor exhibit AV systems (projection, audio, lighting, media playback) and show control, perform daily startup/shutdown checks, diagnose and resolve issues, and coordinate with vendors as needed. Maintain system documentation, perform routine maintenance, test touchscreens and interactive components, and keep exhibit spaces clean and visually consistent. Must be comfortable troubleshooting in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment, with the ability to read schematics and system diagrams, and to lift 40–50 lbs. Weekend availability and flexible hours required. Prior experience with AV/integrated systems and networking concepts (e.g., Q-SYS, Dante, BrightSign, DMX, ETC) is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting AV systems, multimedia environments, integrated technical systems, or technical operations
- Comfort working with projection, audio, lighting, media playback, or show control systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to learn systems quickly
- Familiarity with integrated AV environments, networking concepts, or systems such as Q-SYS, Dante, BrightSign, DMX, ETC, or similar technologies is a plus
- Comfortable reading documentation, schematics, and system diagrams
- Experience coordinating with vendors, integrators, or manufacturer support teams is a plus
- Basic understanding of cabling, equipment handling, and safe work practices
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a guest-facing environment
- Physically able to lift up to 40–50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
