Job Summary
In this role, the Exercise Specialist contributes to clinical wellness by instructing exercise classes for special populations and conducting fitness assessments, including VO2max, submaximal testing, body composition, strength, and flexibility testing, followed by personalized exercise prescriptions. The position orients new users to the fitness area, assesses goals and limitations, adjusts programs over time, and provides continuous training. The specialist uses research and participant feedback to develop programs, ensures follow-up after referrals, and promotes clinical wellness programs to providers within Riverside Health System, building positive relationships with patients and the community. Licensure/certifications include AED (within 30 days) and CPT (NASM) preferred, with ACE certification and related credentials also noted. The role supports Epic-based documentation and participates in the system’s mission to care for others across multiple locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science/Health & Wellness or Related (Preferred)
- 1 year Experience in Fitness or Health/Wellness (Required)
- American Course Exercise Personal Trainer (ACE) (Preferred)
- AED certification within 30 Days (Required)
- CPT - NASM (Preferred)
