Job Summary
Screen, assess, and conduct physiological tests to ensure the safety of exercise interventions for high-risk, chronic, and post-surgical patients. Develop clinical exercise prescriptions and perform functional assessments to evaluate movement capacity across diverse populations. Lead training sessions in private and group settings while monitoring participants for inappropriate responses and maintaining accurate records in EPIC. Provide clear progress reports to referring clinicians and manage equipment quality to support injury prevention and recovery goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine or related field
- 2 years recent and relevant experience
- Personal training certification or certified exercise physiologist or certified clinical exercise physiologist or certified strength and conditioning specialist from a nationally recognized organization such as ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NSCA, or Cooper Institute
- Carilion approved specialty training certifications: orthopedic, movement disorder, Parkinsons disease, multiple sclerosis and cancer
- AHA BLS-HCP
- Desire to work within a comprehensive health care team
- Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently
