Job Summary
Directs and supervises professional and technical personnel in engineering, architecture, and/or landscape architecture for design, construction, operation, and maintenance of projects; oversees preparation of designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; manages contracts and construction documentation; supervises staff, coordinates cross-divisional activities, and communicates with boards/public; ensures compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements across engineering, architectural, and landscape specialties.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree with major course work in engineering, architecture and/or landscape architecture; AND Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer, Architect or Landscape Architect in the State of California; AND Seven (7) years of verifiable professional engineering work experience (for Engineering Specialty) with four (4) years as licensed professional engineer, or Eight (8) years for Architecture/ Landscape Architecture with four (4) years as licensed professional in respective field; AND Current Category 16, 17, or 18 Exempt Employee in Class 5211 with at least 2,080 hours in class 5211; AND driver's license may be required; AND substitution options with Master's or PhD may apply.
