Job Summary
Executive Underwriter for Workers’ Compensation and Admitted Casualty leading multi-line primary casualty underwriting, pricing and risk management across GL, Auto, and WC. Builds and grows admitted casualty portfolio, leverages broker relationships to generate new business, negotiates pricing and terms, and collaborates cross-functionally to drive profitability and cross-sell opportunities. Responsibilities include independently underwriter pricing, structuring attachments and retentions, documenting underwriting rationale, managing renewal and profitability metrics, portfolio analytics, and mentoring junior underwriters. Requires strong leadership, advanced risk assessment, exposure-based pricing discipline, portfolio analytics mindset, and executive-level communication. Competitive base salary and performance-based bonus; relocation benefits not specified; requires legally authorized to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
- 7+ years underwriting experience in primary casualty space
- Experience underwriting multi-line primary casualty (GL, Auto, Workers’ Compensation) on both guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive programs
- Strong broker relationships in admitted casualty market with proven ability to generate new business
- Proven track record of managing profitability within defined underwriting authority
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and broker management skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable in a dynamic, build-mode environment
