Job Summary

Lead a team of HR Experts and Team Leaders by spending most time on the sales floor coaching peers, modeling inclusive behaviors, and driving total store sales growth. Plan and manage operational programs for culture, pay, and rewards while developing leaders to champion a guest-centric service standard. Support business leaders with hiring, onboarding, and scheduling strategies that reduce fluctuations and align with guest needs. Engage the community through volunteer initiatives and gift card accounts, resolve team member issues in an open-door culture, and ensure compliance with safety and ethical conduct standards.

Required Qualifications

4 year degree or equivalent experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong business acumen
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
Manage conflict, lead and hold others accountable
Relate well with and interact with all levels of the organization
Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis
Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
Interpret instructions, reports and information
Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds
Accurately handle cash register operations
Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) and regular attendance necessary

Desired Qualifications

Ability to read financial reporting and interpret data

Skills in recruiting, selecting and talent management of hourly team members and leaders
Ability to support business leaders; coaching and consulting with them in growing the business and selecting and developing their teams

Ability to leverage your expertise to guide all store leaders in hiring and onboarding the talent with the right skills and experiences for their team by understanding guests' and business needs
Ability to build teams that are committed to continuous learning through ongoing observations and reinforcement of guest-service and sales behaviors
Ability to champion a culture where teams love to work and guests love to shop; recognize guest-service behaviors and reward outstanding performance
Ability to anticipate and identify changes in unique store trends

Ability to build relationships that are important to the store's community to address the most pressing local needs. Leverage gift card and volunteer accounts to enhance brand awareness and engage team in volunteerism.
Ability to take an active role in the development of leaders to be champions of a guest-centric culture
Ability to lead an open-door culture where team members feel heard and issues are quickly resolved
Ability to support leadership with creating schedules that fit both the guest and team members needs by teaching leaders the importance of understanding their team members scheduling desires
Ability to decrease fluctuations within team member schedules by developing a store staffing strategy that enables store leaders to increase predictability within their current team members hours and identify when external staffing is needed
Ability to develop a team of HR Experts and Team Leaders (if applicable) who serve the total store team by solving problems, removing roadblocks and engaging each team member in a way that connects them to Target's purpose
