Job Summary

Plan and manage kitchen staff, procurement, production, and presentation of all food in a safe, sanitary environment. Manage human resources by hiring, training, developing, and counseling employees while resolving problems and conducting performance reviews. Develop and implement menus, analyze banquet event orders, and coordinate functions with catering staff to meet customer expectations. Monitor and control labor and food costs within approved budget constraints, prepare daily requisitions, and maintain kitchen equipment and sanitation standards. Consult with upper management on a daily basis, participate in long-range planning, and perform physical inventories. Be available for flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma /Secondary qualification or equivalent
  • Experience with Marriott processes and standards
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess basic computational ability
