Job Summary
Executive Protection Operator responsible for safeguarding OpenAI executives and key employees. Duties include planning and executing secure transportation and protective operations during travel and events, performing advance work and threat assessments, coordinating with internal and external partners, providing crisis management, contributing to SOPs and protective programs, and maintaining LEOSA/HR218 authority and the ability to carry a concealed firearm nationwide. The role requires operational protection experience, firearms handling proficiency, a valid U.S. passport, willingness to travel internationally, and California BSIS licensing through company-supported training. The position is based in San Francisco with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office) and relocation assistance is offered.
Required Qualifications
- Operational executive protection experience protecting C-suite executives, senior government officials, or high-profile principals
- Completed a recognized Executive Protection training program or five+ years in dignitary protection with law enforcement
- Tactical medical training
- Understanding of foreign intelligence targeting tactics and mitigation strategies
- Strong communication, discretion, and professionalism when working with senior leaders and external partners
- Willingness to obtain California BSIS licensing and related certifications through company-supported training pathways
- Ability to travel internationally, obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport
- LEOSA / HR218 authority and legal ability to carry a concealed firearm throughout the United States for protection operations
