Job Summary
Supervise news content across all media platforms and line produce at least one hour of a live newscast daily. Evaluate stories, organize them into cohesive sequences for broadcast or digital web content, and define strategic direction for coverage to meet business and financial objectives. Manage the newsroom, contribute to the editorial process, and execute strategies that engage and grow audiences across all devices while ensuring successful project marketing and budget adherence. Requires a Bachelor's in Communications or equivalent, five years in broadcast production, and strong news judgment. Salary range $40,000-$45,000. Nexstar Media Group produces over 310,000 hours of annual programming across 200 stations in 116 markets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, TV/film or the equivalent
- At least 5 years' experience in television or radio broadcast/production
- Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
- Strong news judgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
- Utilize state-of-the-art television technology
