Job Summary
Lead a team of content creators and manage daily newsroom operations, including scheduling staff, coordinating station events, and ensuring timely delivery of multi-platform news coverage. Collaborate with the News Director to develop policies, copyedit stories for several shows, and execute compelling content while monitoring ratings and audience feedback for data-driven programming decisions. Represent the newsroom at community events and forums as needed, while mentoring personnel to maintain high standards in both digital stream and linear team production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in broadcast news
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of journalists to achieve their best work
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in newsroom software, and social media platforms
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules and deadlines
