Job Summary

Executive Pastry Chef to lead culinary pastry operations in Baghdad across multiple dining venues, lounges, in-room dining, banquets, and special events. Design and execute visually compelling, seasonal pastry menus; develop concepts reflecting brand identity while honoring local traditions. Oversee day-to-day pastry kitchen operations, ensure HACCP compliance and local food safety standards, optimize production, and minimize waste. Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing pastry team; provide coaching and professional development. Manage pastry department budgets, sourcing, purchasing, and inventory; collaborate with Finance on forecasting and financial planning. Engage guests during dining events, collaborate with marketing on promotions, and serve as an ambassador for the pastry program. Lead with creative vision, strategic leadership, guest-centric service, and strong business acumen; drive sustainability and adherence to quality standards across pastry offerings.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Advanced pastry techniques certification or formal training in luxury patisserie
  • Chocolatier certification or specialized pastry training (preferred)
  • Certifications in business administration, Food & Beverage management, or nutrition and sustainability (preferred)
  • Food safety and HACCP certification or equivalent training
