Job Summary
Oversee the consistent creation of urgent, nimble, and local multiplatform content through strong leadership, quality control, and accountability. Lead editorial discussions, review rundowns and scripts, and develop coverage plans to ensure the execution of the "Live, Local, Late Breaking" brand. Collaborate with news leadership to execute content strategies across multiple dayparts while mentoring reporters and photographers on story direction and newscast flow. Motivate the team and execute news strategies, ensuring daily and monthly metric goals drive consistent growth. Manage live on-air product during designated hours and assist with special projects and major event coverage. Produce newscasts as needed and learn digital posting skills for the website, apps, and social media platforms. This role requires scheduling flexibility and a Bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years in a line producing role
- Excellent news judgment, organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills
- Strong news background with the ability to make news judgments in high-pressure situations
- Scheduling flexibility
- Must provide a link to examples of recent work that demonstrate the required skills listed above
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
