Job Summary
The Executive Director for Washington State, Idaho, and Alaska is responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of the Chapters, focusing on community engagement, volunteerism, staff oversight, revenue generation, and program delivery. Key responsibilities include driving fundraising growth, managing events like the Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, partnering with executive-level volunteers, and cultivating community and corporate partnerships. The role requires strong leadership capabilities, with an emphasis on engaging diverse community populations and supporting local advocacy efforts. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of relevant senior management experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience required
- At least 8 years of senior, non-profit management experience
- Minimum 5 years of mass-market special event fundraising
- Proven relationship building, persuasion and influence skills
- Proven experience leading a similar Voluntary Health Association
- Effective communicator and experience as a community spokesperson
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferred
- Experience in recruiting and developing corporate and community partnerships
- Experience engaging multicultural and underserved communities
- Mass market special event fundraising experience
- Community mobilization and/or volunteer recruitment and management experience
