Job Summary
Executive Director leading a high-performing education nonprofit (LAEF) serving the Los Alamitos Unified School District, with hybrid after-school and summer enrichment programs, funding grants, and community partnerships. Responsible for strategic leadership, fundraising and donor development, program oversight across multiple sites, financial management, board collaboration, and external relations to expand access and impact. Key duties include overseeing program delivery (after-school, SEI, camps), fundraising strategy and major donor programs, budget development and financial reporting, staff development, contract management with instructors/independent vendors, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit and district requirements. Ideal candidate will drive philanthropic growth, community engagement, and sustainable operations to support student outcomes and enrichment opportunities. Competencies include strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, operational excellence, and mission-driven leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit, education, or related sector
- Proven success in fundraising and donor development
- Experience managing programs, staff, and multi-site operations
- Strong relationship-builder with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to balance mission impact with financial sustainability
