Job Summary
Executive Director, Philanthropy leads a 30-50 donor portfolio, drives solicitation and stewardship for six- and seven-figure gifts, partners with Market VP to implement annual and multi-year fundraising strategies, participates in multi-year campaigns, and Collaborates with Donor Relations, Events, and Prospect Development to expand BILH’s donor base. The role includes guiding philanthropy efforts across the market, developing pipelines, preparing donor strategy plans, and ensuring donor activity is maintained in the fundraising CRM. The ED will engage volunteers, physicians, and governing-board members, and may oversee philanthropy-related activities for priority clinical or specialty areas. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, 10-12 years of philanthropy experience, and strong leadership and communication skills; travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in philanthropy with a proven track record of securing large gifts
- Healthcare fundraising experience a plus but not required
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies and multi-year campaigns
- Experience managing donor portfolios and coordinating across philanthropy teams
- Willingness to travel as necessary
